As a Windows user of Microsoft products from DOS 6.22 to Vista, I would consider my self a power user as try to max ever geeky tool or feature out of the system I can. But after switching to a MacBook Pro in September of 09 I feel that there is nothing I can't do that I did on my windows desktop. If any thing I can do more with less issues.
Just subscribed to your podcasts. I use Macs at home and make my living by fixing and supporting PCs at work. It’s obvious from listening to this podcast that you are definitely Microsoft biased. Couple things from a Mac perspective:
This podcast about made my head explode. The flame based, biased generalizations you make about Windows / Mac / Linux users are wholly unfair and you contradict yourselves repeatedly.
“Chasing rabbits” would be an appropriate summary for this entire podcast. I don’t think you accomplished anything useful by posting this podcast.
I’ve listened to other podcasts and have enjoyed other posts.
Hi Mark,
I’d be interested to read what parts of this episode you thought were unfair.
We were actually quite complimentary of Mac hardware and software, but simply said that it’s not for us. I think the basic premise was that people should choose which is right for them in terms of performance, price point, and ecosystem.
As for bias, we’ve always been pretty open about the fact that we’re Windows users, Linux advocates, and have little experience at all with Macs. Shawn even goes so far in this episode as to say “I’m a PC.”
Did we make generalizations? Of course. We summed up 15 years of technology development and multi-billion dollar industries in just over half an hour.
